Sloped Front Garden

Nottingham |   2025  |   Full Redesign

The front garden of any home sets the tone for what lies beyond — and when that garden slopes steeply from a raised driveway down to the front door, the design challenge is both practical and aesthetic in equal measure.

A generous staircase now anchors the slope, providing a safe and elegant descent from the drive above while drawing the eye naturally towards the entrance. Brick retaining walls define each level, creating a sense of arrival that unfolds in stages rather than all at once.

Lush, layered planting spills from the raised beds on either side — a mix of Geraniums, Salvias, Ferns and Hydrangeas that softens the hard landscaping and delivers colour and texture throughout the seasons. Carefully chosen trees frame the façade, adding height and a sense of enclosure without competing with the house itself.

The result is a front garden that works hard — managing a challenging gradient while offering real kerb appeal and a warm, considered welcome to all who arrive.
